What is the best event check-in software for large events?

Can multiple staff members scan tickets simultaneously?
Yes. Invite as many door staff as you need by email; each one needs an Event Flo account and accepts the invite, then scans from their own phone. Every scan is checked against the same guest list, so a pass admitted at one entrance shows as already checked in at another.
What happens if a guest doesn't have their QR code?
Door staff search the guest list by name in the scanner and check the guest in from the match. The search runs on the list the scanner loaded, so it keeps working if the signal drops.
Does check-in work without internet?
Partly. The scanner needs a connection to open; once it is open it caches that event's guest list, so if the internet drops while the page is open it keeps scanning and syncs when the connection returns, with each scan recorded once. Offline admits can't see a ban or cancellation made after the last refresh, so they are provisional. Refresh scanners just before doors.
Is the check-in app free?
Yes. The check-in app, Bouncer Portal, and all door management tools are included free with every Event Flo event. Zero platform fees.
How does ID verification work at the door?
Government ID verification is on by default: a guest can ask for a spot before their ID is verified, and the spot is confirmed only once it is. Hosts can turn it off per event. The check happens before the event, not at the door: the scanner confirms the pass, and a seat a guest booked for a friend shows "Not ID-checked", so staff know to ask for ID there.
How does Event Flo compare to Eventbrite for check-in?
Eventbrite provides basic QR scanning but charges service fees on every ticket and does not include identity verification. Event Flo offers QR scanning, government ID verification, gender ratio tracking, and blacklist alerts — all for free.
