Why your event was saved as a draft

Public and members-only events let people you don't know register, so they need your ID approved first. Until then the event is saved as a draft that only you can see.

Step 1: See it before you save

Without a verified ID, the button at the bottom of the form says Save event, not Publish event. The line above it says the event is Listed on Discover once your ID is approved.

Step 2: Upload your ID from the saved card

After you tap Save event, the card says Saved. Upload your ID to go live. Tap Upload your ID and choose a clear photo of a government photo ID.

Step 3: Or upload from your dashboard

The draft also sits on your Command center, marked Waiting for ID, with Upload your ID under it. Preview draft shows how the event page will look.

Step 4: Wait for the review

Once your photo is in, the draft is marked ID in review: it goes live as soon as your ID is approved, usually within an hour.

Step 5: It goes live by itself

When your ID is approved you get an email, and every draft with a date still ahead goes live on its own. A notification says Your event is live.

Good to know

Don't want to wait? Private events go live without an ID, and you add the guests yourself. In the editor, switch the draft to Private, tap Update event, then Publish. See Create a private event.

A draft can't take guests and its link opens only for you, so there's nothing to share yet.

If the date passes while you wait, the draft stays a draft: This date has passed. Change the date to publish it.

ID declined? The draft is marked ID declined. See Fix a rejected ID.
