Turn the guest ID check on or off

Guest ID check is on for every new event. With it on, a guest is confirmed only after their government ID is approved. Turn it off for an event where you don't need it.

Step 1: Open the event

On Command center, scroll to Your events and tap the pencil on the event. Setting up a new event? The same switch is on the create screen.

Step 2: Find Guest ID check

Scroll to Event options. While the check is on, the line under Guest ID check says guests are confirmed only after their ID is verified.

Step 3: Switch it off and save

Tap the switch. The line under it changes to say guests can register without an ID check. Tap Update event to save. To turn the check back on, tap the switch again and save.

Step 4: Saved requests move on

Guests who saved a request while waiting for their ID move on as soon as you save. Before you save, a line under the switch says how many are waiting. With Require approval on, they become requests for you to approve. Otherwise they're confirmed, or join the waitlist if the event is full.

Good to know

Turning the check back on doesn't change guests who are already confirmed.

Only the person registering is ID-checked. Friends they register on the same booking aren't.

Guests you add or import and walk-ins never upload an ID.

You never see a guest's ID document, only whether it's verified. Approved ID files are deleted 7 days after approval.

On a private event the switch is hidden until your own ID is verified, because only the guests you add can come. See Verify your ID for public events.
