Scan tickets at the door

On event day, open the scanner from Check-in and point your phone at each guest's QR code. The scanner tells you straight away whether to let them in.

Before you start

The first time, your browser asks to use the camera. Allow it.

Step 1: Open Check-in

In the Organizer OS, tap the Menu button at the top left, then Check-in. On event day the Command center also shows a Check-in button. Check-in is for the event named at the top of the menu.

Step 2: Tap Launch scanner

Tap Launch scanner. The tally under it counts who has arrived, and Arrivals lists them, newest first.

Step 3: Point the camera at the QR code

Hold the guest's QR code inside the white corners. The scanner reads the whole picture, so you don't need to line it up exactly. If your phone has a torch or a second camera, their buttons sit in the bottom corner of the picture.

Step 4: Read the result

A green Checked in with the guest's name means let them in. This result clears itself after 2 seconds, and the scanner is ready for the next guest.

Step 5: Tap Next guest for anything else

Every other result stays until you tap Next guest. Already checked in shows when that pass came in, with the date if it wasn't today. A refusal says why, for example Invalid ticket code, Ticket cancelled, Registration not confirmed or Entry denied.

Step 6: No QR code? Search their name

Under Or enter a code or name, type part of their name in Code or guest name, then tap Check in next to them. You can also type the code from their pass and tap Check in. A result you typed waits for Next guest.

Good to know

The scanner shows no photo of the guest. If you want to check someone's ID, ask to see it.

When someone registered friends too, each friend has their own pass. Their result says not ID-checked, because only the person who registered went through the ID check.

Each result says who you're letting in: ID verified for someone who registered with a verified ID, From your guest list · not ID-checked for someone you imported or added, Walk-in · not ID-checked for a walk-in, and Not ID-checked for anyone else.

Check-in works any time, so you can scan your own pass to try the scanner before the event. A check-in before event day is real: the result shows the event's date, and you undo it from Guests. See Check guests in from the guest list.

If your event has an agenda, pick Main entry or a session under Scanning for. Session scans show in the attendance report of a business event.

If the camera won't start, the scanner says why. Camera blocked means you need to allow camera access in your browser settings, then open the scanner again. You can still type codes and names.

If you track payments, the result also shows Paid or Not paid yet. See Mark guests as paid.
