Add a walk-in at the door

Someone turns up who isn't on your list. Add them from the scanner and they are on your guest list and checked in, in one step.

Before you start

Your phone is online. Adding a walk-in needs a connection.

Step 1: Tap Add walk-in

Open the scanner from Check-in with Launch scanner, then tap Add walk-in at the top. See Scan tickets at the door if you haven't opened it before.

Step 2: Enter their details

Type their Name. Email (optional) and Phone (optional) are saved on their row on your guest list.

Step 3: Tap Add and check in

Tap Add and check in. The form says they are in, for example Ishita Verma is in., and clears for the next person. Tap Back to scanner when you are done.

Step 4: Check whether they are already on the list

If the name matches someone on your list, the form asks Is this them? and nobody is added yet. Tap Check in if it's the same person, or Add as a new walk-in if it isn't.

Step 5: Find them on your guest list

Walk-ins are on the Added tab of Guests (Imports & walk-ins on a computer). Their row says Walk-in and who added them.

Good to know

If the email you type belongs to someone who already registered, nobody new is added. The form says they already registered, so you can check them in.

If their request isn't confirmed yet, the form says what to do. You can tap Approve or Promote. If it's their own request for one spot, waiting for approval or ID, you can tap Add as a walk-in (not ID-checked) instead. Door staff see only that they're on the list and ask you.

If you type the email of someone you blocked, nobody is added and the form says Entry denied. It knows them by that email only, so a name alone or another email adds them. Someone you blocked who is on your own guest list still checks in.

A walk-in takes a seat. If the event is full, they are still checked in and the form tells you how far over capacity you are.

Walk-ins are added at the main entry only. If you picked an agenda session under Scanning for, switch back to Main entry to see Add walk-in.

Your door staff can add walk-ins too.
