Set capacity, tickets per person and waitlist
Capacity caps how many people can come. Tickets per person lets a guest register friends on one booking. When every seat is taken, new guests join the waitlist.
Step 1: Set the capacity
On the create screen or the event's edit screen, find Event options and type a number in Capacity. Every event needs one. Each ticket takes a seat, and so does each guest you add or import.
Step 2: Choose tickets per person
Set Tickets per person above 1 to let a guest register friends too, up to 20. A booking of 3 takes 3 seats. Under Questions, Guest details lets you ask for each friend's name, phone or email.
Step 3: Let the waitlist move up on its own
On the edit screen, switch on Auto-promote waitlist. When a seat frees up, the next guest on the waitlist is confirmed and gets their ticket. It's off until you turn it on. Tap Update event to save.
Step 4: Promote a guest yourself
In Guests, open the Pending tab (Pending & waitlist on a computer). Tap a guest marked Waitlist, then Promote to confirmed.
Good to know
Once every seat is taken, new registrations go to the waitlist. Guests can leave the waitlist themselves.
You can't set the capacity below the seats already held by confirmed guests and the guests you added or imported.
Auto-promote skips a booking that's bigger than the free seats, and guests still waiting for their ID on an event with the ID check on.
Auto-promote waitlist is only on the edit screen, so turn it on after you publish.
Sports events have Players needed, which sets the capacity for you.
