Create a public event
A public event is listed on Discover, so anyone can find it and register. It's the default for every new event.
Before you start
Your ID is approved. Without it, a public event saves as a draft and goes live once your ID is approved. See Verify your ID for public events.
Step 1: Fill in your event
Open the create form and fill it in as in Create an event: cover, name, date, category, location, description and capacity.
Step 2: Check that it says Public
Tap the Public button at the top right of the form. Public is ticked: listed on Discover, and anyone can register.
Step 3: Decide who gets in
Guest ID check is on by default, so guests are confirmed only after their ID is verified. Turn on Require approval if you want to approve each registration yourself.
Step 4: Publish
The line above the button starts with Listed on Discover. Tap Publish event.
Step 5: Share it
On Your event is live!, send the link with the share buttons, Copy link or Download QR. The event also shows on Discover from now on.
Good to know
Hosting as a community? Pick it as the host and Public also lists the event on your community page.
Business conference and Business training events can't be public: Business events aren't listed on Discover.
You can change who can see an event later in the editor. See Edit an event.
