What does a house party hosting app do?
The quick answer
It runs your guest list, so you're not chasing RSVPs and payment screenshots in a group chat. On Event Flo you post the party, guests RSVP, and with approval on you pick each one. ID checks are on by default, and only confirmed guests get your address, 2 hours before start. It's free, and guests pay you directly.
- Private address: Confirmed guests, 2 hours before start
- ID checks: On by default
- 0% platform fee: Guests pay you directly
Why people host
Throw the party, and a room of new faces can leave as friends.
What stops people hosting. And how we fix it.
- "I don't want random people at my door." You pick who comes: Turn on approval and guests request to join. You see each name and whether their ID is verified before you say yes, and ID checks are on by default.
- "I don't want my address all over Instagram." Your address stays off the page: For house parties, the exact address isn't on the public event page. Confirmed guests get it from 2 hours before start, on the event page and by email.
- "Asking friends for money is awkward." Put the price on the page: Set a ticket price once and say how you'd like to be paid. Guests pay you directly, by UPI, bank transfer, cash at the door or however you already get paid, and Event Flo takes 0%.
- "Half the people who say yes don't show." Passes, reminders and a waitlist: Guests get a QR pass by email and a reminder the day before. When you're full, the waitlist is ready for any spot that opens.
From idea to doorbell.
- Create the party: Date, cover photo, guest limit, house rules, and a price if you're charging. List it as a house party so the address stays off the public page. The first time, a public event goes live once your ID is approved, usually within an hour; a private event can go live right away.
- Approve your guests: Turn on approval and requests come to you. Approve the people you want: they get a QR pass, and the address 2 hours before start.
- Scan them in: Check guests in at your door with your phone, so you know exactly who's inside.
Before your first house party: the short version
The seven things first-time hosts ask about most.
- Pick your size: Decide how many people your space fits, and invite a few more, since not every yes turns up.
- Short on space?: A friend's terrace or a café's back room can work too. Ask how many people it holds before you post.
- Check the local rules: Noise limits and building or society rules vary, so check yours before you send the link.
- Set house rules up front: Shoes, smoking, plus-ones, end time. Add them as house rules on your event page, so guests see them before they book.
- Decide on money: Free, BYOB or a ticket price. Say it on the page, so nobody's surprised at the door.
- Share one link: Post it on Instagram and WhatsApp. With approval on, every request comes to you.
- Plan the door: Know who's coming, and scan guests in from your phone, so you know who's inside.
Everything for a house party.

Get it out there
Your event page, and the places people can find it.
- Your own event page: Cover photo, a full description, the date, the place and an RSVP button, all on one page with one link to share everywhere.
- Listed where people look: Public events appear on Discover and on your city's pages, where people already look for parties, meetups and runs.
- One-tap sharing: Share your event to WhatsApp, X or Facebook in one tap from your dashboard.
Choose your crowd
Who gets in is your call.
- Approve each guest: Turn on approval and guests request to join instead of booking straight away. You approve or decline each one, so nobody gets in without your yes.
- Private address for house parties: For house parties, only confirmed guests get your exact address, and only from 2 hours before start.
- ID-checked guests: ID checks are on by default, so an RSVP waits until the guest's ID is verified. You can switch them off per event.
Run the night
Smooth at the door, and it sets up your next one.
- QR passes by email: Confirmed guests get a QR pass by email, and you can see whose pass was sent and whose bounced.
- Scan guests in from your phone: Check guests in with your phone's camera, right in the browser. It keeps working when the signal drops and syncs later.
- Guest reviews: After the night, guests are asked for a review, and their reviews show on your host profile.

Frequently asked questions
Can I charge entry for a house party?
Yes. Set one ticket price on your event page and say how you'd like to be paid: UPI, bank transfer, cash at the door or however you already get paid. Guests pay you directly, and Event Flo takes 0% because it never touches the money. Rules on selling entry, serving alcohol and noise differ by city, so check yours first.
Is it legal to host a house party in India?
Generally yes, within your city's and state's noise and liquor rules and your housing society's rules, so check those before you sell entry or serve alcohol.
How many guests should I invite to a house party?
A few more than your space holds, because not everyone who says yes turns up. Set your capacity to what fits and let the waitlist catch the rest.
Can I keep my home address private?
Yes. List the event as a house party and the exact address stays off the public page. Confirmed guests get it from 2 hours before start, on the event page and by email.
How do I know who's coming to my house?
Turn on approval and you see each request before saying yes, with the person's name and whether their ID is verified. ID checks are on by default, so an RSVP waits until the guest's ID is verified. You can also block someone from your future events.
What time should a house party start and end?
Pick a start time that suits your crowd, often 8 or 9 pm, and an end time your neighbours can live with. Put both on your event page.
What happens if someone doesn't show up?
Their spot stays empty unless they cancel. When a guest cancels, the spot opens for your waitlist: let the next person in yourself, or turn on auto-promotion. A reminder email the day before helps people remember.
Is there an app to host a house party?
Yes. Event Flo is free and runs in the browser, so neither you nor your guests download anything. You post the party, choose your guests, share one link and scan guests in at the door from your phone.
