Worked example: 500 tickets at ₹499
Selling 500 tickets at ₹499 grosses ₹2,49,500. What you lose depends on which platform you sell through, and the headline percentage is not the whole figure — per-ticket flat fees and payment processing sit on top of it. On Eventbrite's India schedule that comes to ₹24,723. On Event Flo the platform fee is 0%, so the host keeps all ₹2,49,500.
Per-ticket flat fees matter most on cheap tickets: at ₹100 a head, a ₹22 flat fee is more than the percentage and the effective rate passes 25%.
BookMyShow publishes no organiser rate card, so its row assumes 6.5% plus 2% gateway; published comparisons quote anywhere from 5% to 25% of ticket sales. Your contract sets the real figure.
